CERT Clinical Fellowship
Future physicians and healthcare professionals need more than observation — they need real clinical experience.
The CERT Clinical Fellowship provides select EMT students with structured access to supervised patient care environments as part of their professional training.
Fellows Receive:
• Up to 120 hours of clinical rotations in real patient care environments
• Direct exposure to emergency medicine and healthcare teamwork
• A Clinical Experience Portfolio and Fellowship evaluation documenting their experience

The CERT Clinical Fellowship is an advanced professional development track available to a limited number of students enrolled in the EMT program at CERT, LLC. The Fellowship is designed for motivated students pursuing careers in medicine, physician assistant studies, nursing, and other healthcare professions who want deeper exposure to real-world patient care environments.

Unlike many traditional pre-health experiences that focus primarily on observation, EMT education places students within active patient care environments as part of their clinical training. Within this educational framework, Fellows gain firsthand insight into patient assessment, communication, and the realities of emergency medicine while working alongside experienced healthcare professionals.
Students accepted into the CERT Clinical Fellowship have access to up to 120 hours of clinical rotations, allowing them to experience real clinical environments while developing a deeper understanding of healthcare delivery and the teamwork required to care for patients.

Admission to the Fellowship is highly selective. Applicants must complete a pre-screening interview, and only a limited number of students are accepted into the program each academy. Fellows are held to higher expectations and increased professional scrutiny throughout their training.
Fellows are expected to represent CERT professionally in all clinical environments. Students who succeed in the program demonstrate initiative, humility, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. Clinical environments are demanding, and Fellows are expected to actively contribute to the teams they are learning from.

Students who successfully complete the program receive:
• Up to 120 hours of clinical rotations
• A Clinical Experience Portfolio documenting patient care exposure
• Verification of Clinical Hours for professional and academic applications
• A Fellowship Performance Evaluation from CERT faculty
• A Certificate of Completion for the CERT Clinical Fellowship

Who Should Apply
The CERT Clinical Fellowship is designed for students who are serious about pursuing careers in healthcare and who want meaningful clinical exposure within real patient care environments.

Ideal applicants are students who:
• Are pursuing careers in medicine, physician assistant studies, nursing, or other healthcare professions
• Want real clinical exposure rather than passive observation
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic
• Are eager to learn from experienced healthcare professionals and contribute to the clinical environment
Because of the responsibilities associated with clinical environments, admission to the CERT Clinical Fellowship is competitive and limited to a small number of students each academy. Students selected for the Fellowship should be prepared to hold themselves to a higher professional standard and take full advantage of the opportunities the program provides.
